About ADI Part 3
ADI part 3 can only be taken after passing the ADI Part 2 test. Candidates have 3 attempts to pass - if unsuccessful, they must wait until 2 years after the date of passing ADI Part 1 before reapplying to become a Driving Instructor again.
After passing the ADI Part 2 test, candidates can move onto Part 3, and just like Part 2, they are only allowed 3 attempts to pass. Unsuccessful candidates must wait until 2 years after the date of passing ADI Part 1 before they can reapply and begin the whole process again.
Part 3 takes approximately one hour and will assess the potential driving instructor on 17 competencies, which are broken down into 3 core areas of instruction:
- Lesson planning
- Risk management
- Teaching and learning strategies
